Ruth Eleanor Morse (American, 1887 to 1992)
Ruth Morse was a native of Watertown, Massachusetts and a graduate of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School and the Massachusetts School of Art. She studied with Aldro Hibbard in Boston and Rockport and with Maurice Achener at the Ecole DeLacluse in Paris, France. She traveled and painted throughout Europe in the 1920s and continued to paint European subjects throughout her career. She taught in the art department at the University of South Carolina and retired from there.
