Bob Shrope Wade (American, born 1943)
Bob “Daddy-O” Wade, Austin native and resident, is a modern Texas art legend. The Chicago Tribune called him a “legendary free spirit” who is “larger than life.” Known for sculpture and photo-realistic painting, his large sculptures are seen across Texas from San Antonio to Dallas to Abilene. Wade has been the recipient of three grants from the National Endowment of the Arts and has had his work exhibited in Biennials in Paris, New Orleans, and The Whitney Museum of Art in New York.
