William Meade Prince (1893-1951)
William Meade Prince studied at the New York School of Fine and Applied Arts. He lived and worked in Connecticut in the 1920s then he moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he remained. When the Dodge Motor Company asked him to create illustrations for their advertisements, he gave them an outrageous price for lack of a desire to work for them. Surprisingly, they accepted and Prince achieved financial success. He created illustrations for Cosmopolitan, Collier’s, and Saturday Evening Post.
