Maurice Day (American, 1892 to 1983)
Maurice Day was one of the earliest and best known animators in the Walt Disney Studios. He is credited with bringing the Felix Salten book, “Bambi,” to Disney’s attention and spent months sketching and photographing in the Maine woods to provide source material for the 1942 feature length cartoon.
