Daniel Bury
Daniel Bury (Burry) was born between 1800 and 1802 in Pennsylvania and died in Cornersburg, Ohio, in 1883. He wove coverlets in New Portage, Ohio, circa 1839 to 1845, before moving to Cornersburg, circa 1848 to 1851, and Youngstown. His known coverlets date from 1830 to 1851, but the coverlets woven in Youngstown seem to be undated. His corner blocks usually included his name along with the client’s name, the date and the location. The words “North America” and “E Pluribus Unum” were sometimes included in the borders.
